The primitive hermitage was located at the edge of the stream, next to the cave where the Christ was found.Because the waters of the stream destroyed the foundations and thanks to the donation of D. Andrés Cabrera Mármol, the current hermitage was built in 1765.
The reliquary that keeps the venerated image dates from 1766.
In September the Pilgrimage is celebrated in honor of the Santísimo Cristo del Romeral.
